A construction crew digging up a soccer field in Germany discovered the 13-foot by 13-foot hate symbol buried more than a foot under the surface at the facility used by the Billstedt-Horn sports club in Hamburg.
Authorities have since ordered that the swastika be broken into little piece and taken away, Deutsche Welle reported.
It is believed to have been the foundation of a Nazi monument on the land that was taken down decades ago.
Swastikas and other Nazi symbols are outlawed in Germany, though many buildings built by the Third Reich still stand.
