Ex-patient and nurse practitioner testify about easy access to prescription drugs at painkiller doc’s trial

At the Brooklyn federal trial of Dr. Martin Tesher, Andrea George told jurors it didn’t take long for her to see there was something seriously wrong at the doc’s office. Within weeks of a part-time job that started in September 2015, George said, she realized patients were coming in with addiction problems, not pain problems. All of Tesher’s patients were being prescribed opioids, she said — even though Tesher told her he wanted to get people off the potent oxycodone painkiller.
