A drunken driver stopped by police in Brooklyn struck a cop and sped off — then lost control and crashed his car onto a brick wall after leading cops on a three-mile chase, police said.
Cops were called to a nightclub on McDonald Ave. near Kings Highway in Midwood at about 5 a.m. on a report of an assault in progress, police said.
Cops found 24-year-old Ali Alyiv and his passenger, Anastasya Semenenko, 25, inside Alyiv’s silver Subaru. Alyiv gunned the engine, striking one of the officers as he escaped, and police gave chase, following the Subaru for three miles into Manhattan Beach, where the car vaulted the sidewalk and landed on top of a low brick wall and hedge on Langham St. and Shore Blvd. Cops quickly surrounded the car and took Alyiv and Semenenko into custody.
They were both hit with a slew of charges including assault on a police officer. Alyiv was also charged with drunk driving. The injured cop was taken to NYU Langone Hospital with cuts to his leg and some bruises, police said.
