Todd Bowles, Jets get first look at Sam Darnold on opening day of rookie minicamp 

The media contingent was larger than usual, many of them dropping by to grab a glimpse of the Jets’ new prized quarterback, 20-year-old Sam Darnold, who the team drafted third overall last weekend. The crowd had looked on as Darnold, wearing a white helmet, red No. 14 jersey and neon orange cleats, tossed his debut passes as a member of the Jets hours earlier. Now, one reporter wanted to know Bowles’ first impressions of his rookie signal-caller.
