Phillips: Even if Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid lose their collusion cases, the NFL still has an integrity problem

Reid became a free agent in March after his four-year, $8.4 million contract expired at the end of last season. He has gone unsigned despite a career that features 10 interceptions, 264 tackles, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in his first five seasons. The out that some teams have with not signing Kaepernick due to their offensive scheme, or because they believe his skills have eroded, don’t work with Reid. His numbers from last season speak for themselves, as he finished with 53 tackles, four deflected passes, and two interceptions.
