For Week 9 of the 2017 NFL season, the daily Fantasy sports site DraftKings is running a $3 million Fantasy Football Millionaire Maker. FanDuel is running a $1.5 million Sunday Million.
Before you enter a daily fantasy football lineup for Week 9 on DraftKings or FanDuel, you need to hear what professional DFS player Mike McClure has to say.
McClure has more than $1 million in career DFS winnings and is off to a hot start this season, entering multiple lineups that have already cashed big in tournaments.
In Week 8, he was all over the Cowboys’ big defensive performance against the Redskins. McClure predicted that Dallas, priced at just $2,300 on DraftKings, would be one of the best bargains of the week. The result? Dallas had a pick-six, two sacks and held the Redskins under 20 points, good for 19 DK points.
Now, McClure has exhaustively studied matchups, injuries and depth charts for Week 9 and has again locked in his optimal DFS lineup. And he’s sharing it over at SportsLine.
One player he absolutely loves this week: Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant. Many are staying away from Bryant because of his spotty production this season, but McClure sees big-time value.
With Cole Beasley battling a concussion, and a plus-matchup against Kansas City’s pass defense that is ranked No. 28 in the league, Bryant could see double-digit targets and find the end zone at least once. The Chiefs have already given up huge days to Amari Cooper (11-210-2) and to Houston’s passing attack, which accounted for five touchdowns in Week 5.
Bryant is a complete steal at $6,400, leaving you plenty of salary cap room to roster another big name like Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt ($8,600 on DraftKings).
Some are down on Hunt after the Broncos limited him last week, but McClure sees a much better matchup for the breakout rookie stud against Dallas’ middle-of-the-road run defense. The Cowboys have given up huge days to C.J. Anderson (118 yards), Todd Gurley (121) and Aaron Jones (125 yards) already, so Hunt could be in for a huge day.
Hunt’s price has started to come down because of his touchdown drought, but McClure sees a buy-low opportunity that will lead to a huge return. Roster Hunt with confidence this week and watch him return to early-season form.
McClure is also targeting a running back he projects will get more carries than any other player in the league this weekend. And he’s not even the most expensive player at his position. Picks like these could be the difference between winning your tournaments and going home empty-handed.
