Frank Reich signs on to be Colts’ next head coach

After winning the first Super Bowl in franchise history, the Eagles are watching their championship coaching staff get dismantled.

Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich has signed a five-year deal to be the Colts’ next head coach, the team announced Sunday. The team will hold a press conference Tuesday.

The Colts had agreed to a deal with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels before he backed out of his deal last minute and returned to New England.

Reich spent four seasons as an assistant coach in Indianapolis before moving on to the Cardinals, Chargers and Eagles, spending the last two seasons as Philadelphia’s offensive coordinator.

In addition to Reich, the Eagles lost quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, who went to Minnesota to serve as the Vikings’ offensive coordinator.
