Don’t dance on the alt-right’s grave just yet: Unite the Right 2 was a flop, but the ideas are mainstreaming

In the run-up to Charlottesville, the alt-right successfully, if not temporarily, rode the coattails of a broader nationalist anti-establishment political wave that eschewed not only a bloated, globalist-dominated government, but the decline that elites and the left were supposedly forcing upon average Americans. These leftist globalists, the narrative goes, degraded national security, embraced socialism and eroded white “Western” culture.
