Brett Gardner breaks out of slump with clutch hits in Yankees’ win over Red Sox

Gardner, one of three current Yankees who was part of the club’s last championship title, in 2009, obliterated his offensive slump in five trips to the plate Wednesday night, including the biggest blow, a two-run triple off Boston closer Craig Kimbrel in the bottom of the eighth inning that put the Yankees back in the lead. Aaron Judge would swat a two-run homer in the next at-bat, but Gardner’s hit sealed the Bombers’ 10th come-from-behind victory of 2018. And it’s only early May.
