It might be an awkward series for the former Yankee, Jeter, who is presiding over one of the roughest rebuilds in MLB. Stanton, one of the faces that rallied the organization and city after the shocking death of star pitcher Jose Fernandez, had asked Jeter to give the stable of young, talented hitters like Christian Yelich (now with the Brewers), Marcell Ozuna (Cardinals), Justin Bour (Phillies) and himself a half of the 2018 season with an investment in a pitcher to prove they could win here.
