Is it possible that our brains and not our genes control whether or not we get sick — and that love is the cure all?
The happy-go-lucky, hug a tree-type of person tends to radiate this contagiously healthy, feel -good energy that others feel drawn too, while the Debbie Downers tend to drain the energy from all who are around them.
Dr. Bruce Lipton is a stem biologist who studies the way thoughts change our actual gene structure. He believes your perception on life holds the key to good health.
I’ve always believed in the power of thought so naturally I found his work fascinating. From what I gather it goes something like this: Our thoughts create our emotions, from which our brain then accordingly releases either happy or unhappy chemicals into our bloodstream, which nourishes our genes — eventually resulting in a healthier or unhealthier us!

According to Dr. Lipton, “If you change that environmental information, you change the genetic activity. The cells of your body are merely following instructions given by the nervous system, by the brain.”
Science says every living thing emits light from their core DNA. When our auras are sad and blue our light dims, when we are feeling happy and loving our auras are brighter. The more positive feelings we have the more alive we are!
Seems simple enough…if you’re always surrounded by only positive people and positive situations and take bad habits out of the equation.
Like most spiritually-inclined people who continuously wish to evolve, I try to make lemonade when life throws me lemons, but it’s not always easy. Sometimes you can feel the frustration, sadness or anger sinking into your genes, no matter how many trees you hug.

Negative emotions are unhealthy and must be released. But at what point does it actually get stuck in our physical bodies and affect our health? How many tears are too many when releasing those unwanted emotions?
I decided to reach out to a well-known spiritual healer with a solid track record, Kimberly Meredith. As a medical intuitive, when she puts her hands on a person’s body she is able to detect trapped emotions and negative energies. She directs light energy into those areas but admits healing just the physical body alone is not enough.
Unless the thought pattern is changed those same emotions will come back and will again cause disease. She also channels the higher intelligences in order to get down to the real nitty-gritty of what’s up!
Kimberly agrees that because we are made up of energy, keeping any negative emotions in the body for too long will indeed manifest into a disease. She also believes that the stronger you are with living in love and the higher your dimensional consciousness is, the harder it becomes for negative energy to permeate your cells.

“Love is a healing energy and is the strongest weapon we have,” Kimberly says.
She explained that when someone makes you feel upset or mad, it’s actually a blessing because it means the energetic frequency is not lining up with yours.
“Feel it, then breath it out,” she suggests, while saying, “I am love, I am light.”
Our emotions are a gift because they tell us how we are feeling. If we don’t feel good about it, it can’t be good for us. Now I’m no doctor or spiritual guru but I have a sneaking suspicion that when we are emotionally out of control and feel like we are on the brink of losing all sanity, chances are that’s when the icky-sticky negative energy has reached our cells. If we allow it to go any deeper it will begin to cause physical havoc within us and that is when we will get sick.

We all have the power to keep our cells in perfect harmony. Pay attention to your physical, emotional and spiritual body. Emotionally, love always feels the best, so do what you love, especially when you’re upset.
Physical discomfort means it’s gone too far and some emotional backtracking is in order. Figure out what negative energies are stuck in you and then release them through love and forgiveness.
Spiritually, always call on your guides and ask for help. We have many guides — a loved one who has passed on or an angelic being, or one who has been with you since birth. Ask them for help and don’t forget listen for their response. After all, that is why they are there.
I don’t know about you, but if I signed up to be a spiritual guide for someone who never asked for guidance I’d get pretty bored. They are waiting to help you.

I asked Kimberly what advice her higher guides had for us, and as I suspected her response was indeed enlightening.
“If we can surrender over and just be in this beautiful, higher dimension, we can be healed. They want us to have faith in ourselves and our gifts and to be the authentic, loving being that we are and not stand in our own way; not let anyone push us around or doubt ourselves. They want us to be fearless and loving and know that we are powerful.”
