Yoenis Cespedes too sore to play Saturday and now confused Mets left to wonder if he’ll ever be an everyday player again

Friday night, the first night that Cespedes had played since May 14 because of what the Mets listed as a “mild strain,” of his right hip flexor, the Mets’ $110 million slugger responded to what he saw as questions about his character from social media about his willingness to rehab and get back quickly. According to a team source, Cespedes was also stung by comments during his rehab from former Mets GM Sandy Alderson and Callaway, who made a point to say that the team was paying him a lot of money.
