The Giants are gone now until July 22, when Shurmur will have the rookies, quarterbacks and “selected vets” come in for two days to give the rookies “a lot more reps” and help the quarterbacks “get going.” The whole team will be required to report for day one of training camp on July 25. Any player who does not show for camp will be fined $30,000 a day … Shurmur said fifth-round pick R.J. McIntosh, a defensive tackle out of Miami who has not participated yet this spring, is going to have “a procedure” done. McIntosh is believed to have a foot or ankle issue … Outside linebacker Avery Moss, who did individual work this week but hasn’t participated fully yet, is still “working through” an injury from last season, Shurmur said. And the coach is hopeful Moss will be ready for camp … Shurmur said that the Giants’ routine at training camp will include walk-throughs in the morning and practice in the early afternoon, but there will be a handful of morning practices thrown in … Defensive lineman Josh Mauro and free safety Darian Thompson continued to sit out practice and ride the bikes … RB Paul Perkins remains the lone player on non-football injury … Shurmur confirmed that the Giants will be practicing for a few days in Detroit in mid-August leading up to their second preseason game at the Lions on Aug. 17.
