Cops release teen after sex attack claims are found baseless

Cops released a 16-year-old boy who had been arrested at a Brooklyn high school Monday after a younger student’s claims he forced her to perform a sex act on him in the stairwell were unfounded.

The girl, 13, told police the older boy coerced her about 11:30 a.m. Friday at Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood. The victim said she feared for her safety and that’s why she did it, according to authorities.

Police responded to the school, conferred with the assistant principal, and took the boy into custody, cops said.

But Education Department spokeswoman Miranda Barbot said police determined the accusations against the teen were baseless.

“After the NYPD concluded their investigation and determined these allegations were unfounded, the school is conducting a thorough investigation to ensure appropriate follow-up action is taken,” Barbot said.

Police said the case is sealed.
