LONDON – Media, technology and IP law firm Wiggin today announced the launch of Overmorrow Partners, a new strategic advisory business focused exclusively on the Media, Entertainment and Technology sectors.
Overmorrow is led by a team of five Wiggin partners with longstanding expertise in the film, television, technology, sport, computer games, brands and publishing industries. The business is based in London but has a global mandate and will operate as an appointed representative of Daedalus Partners LLP for FCA regulatory purposes.
Overmorrow will facilitate introductions and provide strategic advice to clients, supported by Wiggin’s in-depth sector expertise and relationships with investment banks, financiers, advisors and other industry players. Overmorrow will support clients to deliver their vision – whether that involves an M&A opportunity, a strategic partnership, or other growth plan. Overmorrow will also work with a select range of investors involved in, or seeking exposure to the Media, Entertainment and Technology sectors, in targeting new opportunities.
Overmorrow Director, Chris Hanson said: “Our clients will range from start-ups to publicly traded multi-nationals. Whether helping with introductions to investment banks and other strategic partners, or working with clients to frame an opportunity or deliver their vision, our aim is to support clients through their growth cycle. Through Overmorrow we will introduce our investor clients to sector opportunities, and help our sector clients deliver on their strategic vision.”
Wiggin CEO, John Banister, said: “Wiggin was one of the first firms to invest in, and set up, non-legal businesses – it’s a field in which we’ve had considerable success. Our business model, which is to focus on our specialist sectors of Media, Technology and IP, means that we’re in a great position to spot opportunities in the market. Our strategy is to be flexible and assertive in meeting those market demands with investment. We are excited to launch this new advisory service which will benefit from our unique combination of sector knowledge, contacts and legal expertise.”
Wiggin has been recognised by the market for its innovative approach in investing in a number of successful businesses (including Incopro, Reviewed & Cleared, Viewfinder, Cirkus and Curio). It has received several industry awards:
